CEO

FULL-TIME

SALARY £32-38k        

Based Chard, Somerset

 

The Sanctuary is currently seeking to recruit a highly talented and successful CEO to lead the organisation in an exciting time of growth and change.  This is both an operational and strategic role which requires the post holder to represent the Sanctuary at a senior level, alongside managing the day to day operations.

The Role

  • To provide strategic vision, direction and strong leadership
  • To develop and shape the Sanctuary’s long term strategy and business plan, driving the achievement of objectives.
  • To lead and manage the day to day operations of the Sanctuary
  • To manage employee and volunteer engagement and motivation
  • To report directly to the Board of Trustees

 

The Candidate

  • Strong personal, operational and self-management skills
  • Strategic and creative thinker
  • Proven business acumen and a track record of success in a senior management role
  • Proven successful experience in managing teams
  • Excellent communication skills

Charity Shop Manager

£15,600.00      per annum

35 hours per week (5 out of 7 day rota including Saturday working)

Based Bridport

 
The Sanctuary is seeking to recruit a highly talented Charity Shop Manager with business acumen and a real passion for the retail environment.  As the Charity Shop Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operations and achievement of sales and profit targets.   You will have the ability to lead and inspire staff and volunteers ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.  You will act as an ambassador for Ferne Animal Sanctuary building on the excellent brand. 
 
It is essential you have experience in a retail environment, preferably at a management level.  You will demonstrate energy, flexibility, innovation and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.   You will have excellent organisational abilities and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

Assistant Charity Shop Manager

£7.27 per hour

14 hours per week / 2 day rota

Trustee

Ferne Animal Sanctuary is seeking to recruit new Trustees who will bring skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to the Board.

Over the last three years, the sanctuary has experienced significant growth thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the increasing need for our services.
Do you have the time and interest to meet six times a year and sit on at least one specific committee?
If you have current or recent experience in any of the following, we’d love to hear from you:


• Animal Care/Welfare • Finance • Fundraising • Sales/Marketing/PR

Starting in this period of exciting development, as a Trustee, you would commit to attend Board meetings and use your business acumen and strategic judgement to help safeguard the future of the animals needing our care.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary has been saving the lives of unwanted and abandoned animals for over 70 years.
Your support will mean this vital work can continue.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary strives to provide care and refuge for unwanted domestic & farm animals. The Sanctuary rehomes dogs & cats within a 30 mile radius of Ferne. Some horses & ponies are available for permanent loan; all other animals remain at the Sanctuary for the rest of their lives. We rely entirely on donations & legacies to continue its work. Some of the animals come to Ferne because they have been neglected or are no longer wanted. Others come to us because of circumstantial changes of their owners. All animals are given the care, attention & TLC they need to enjoy a happy life while they are at Ferne.
