We’re delighted to invite you to our Ferne Community Conversation event on the 17th October at Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

Join us in our Conference Room from 2pm – 4pm. This will be a chance to get to know us better, ask questions and share your thoughts with the team face-to-face.

With the recent events at the Sanctuary, we want to offer our valued supporters the opportunity to connect with us directly.

Whether you have questions, ideas, or just want to say hello – we’d love to see you there! Everyone is welcome to pop in. However, we’d appreciate it if you could let us know if you’re planning to come. This will help our team prepare accordingly.

Dog First Aid Course

Dog First Aid Course

Our popular Allwinds first aid will be returning with another course this October to ensure your confidence in handling any situation

This dog first aid course runs for six hours (including refreshment breaks) and is delivered by director Amanda Williams who is a qualified veterinary nurse. Included is your certificate of attendance which is valid for three years from the date of completion and fully complies with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and The Animal Welfare Act 2006.

The course includes knowledge building around:
– Bleeding
– Heatstroke
– Burns
– Seizures
– Traffic accidents
– Drowning
– CPR

October Half Term at Ferne Animal Sanctuary – Spooktacular Family Fun!

Join us at Ferne Animal Sanctuary this October half term for a faboolous time filled with exciting and creative activities perfect for children of all ages! Our Spooktacular Activities include making Popsicle Stick Bats, Cardboard Tube Bats, Pom Pom Bats, and Cardboard Tube Spiders. Get crafty with our Pumpkin Collage Faces and decorate your own Paper Pumpkin Templates for a frightfully fun experience!

Bring the whole family along for a day of spooky crafting and Halloween thrills at Ferne Animal Sanctuary. We can’t wait to see you there!

Poppy Wreath making

Poppy Wreaths

Join us on Sunday 3 November from 1pm to 4 pm to make a beautiful felted poppy wreath. £35pp including refreshments

Learn the fascinating art of wet felting, using wool fibres, water and soap to create and shape beautiful, felted poppies, which we will then attach to a wicker wreath.

You can choose to create traditional red poppies or purple poppies to remember animal victims of war.

This is an easy and fun activity.  No experience is needed and is perfect for beginners eager to learn a new craft and more experienced crafters.

The workshop fee includes all materials, but please do bring rubber gloves if soap aggravates your skin.

You’ll leave with a beautiful poppy wreath and be able to repeat the technique at home.

Beginners Italic Calligraphy

Come and try your hand at Italic Calligraphy – Learn how to hold the pen, understand the materials and take a step by step approach to forming the letters. Make a beautiful bookmark to take home. This workshop is for complete beginners.

The Workshop will run from 11am – 1pm on the 9th of November in the conference room at Ferne Animal Sanctuary. All materials are provided.

Candle Workshop

Candle Workshop

Come on Sunday 16th November and spend 2 hours from 11am to 1pm exploring scent! You can find or create your perfect blend.Then transform this unique scent into a professional soy candle.

This relaxed and enjoyable workshop is both hands-on and informative. You work with a selection of fragrance and essential oils to find a blend which makes you feel wonderful. When you have this blend made you will then mindfully stir this into some pre-melted soy way and stir it in to create the perfect candle.

While the candle is setting, you can enjoy a cup of tea while designing your own label to make it as special as you are.
