Home I need:
Hector is a beautiful, gentle old soul who never expected to find himself starting over in his senior years. He came to Ferne Animal Sanctuary after the person he loved most became too unwell to care for him. Through no fault of his own, Hector lost his home, his routine, and his best friend.
Despite everything, Hector’s heart is still full of love to give.
He is calm, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to people. He walks sweetly on a loose lead, travels well, is house-trained, and settles nicely when left for a few hours. He’s gentle with children aged 5+ and friendly with other dogs, though big, bouncy ones can make him feel a little unsure. What he loves most is simple — a warm bed, kind hands, and someone to fuss over him.
Hector has never known the freedom of running off lead, so he will need patience and reassurance as he learns. He would also need a home without cats, as he does like to chase them.
This dear old boy isn’t asking for much — just a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe again and spend his golden years surrounded by kindness. If you open your heart to Hector, he will fill your days with gentle companionship and gratitude that only a rescue dog can show.
Please don’t let Hector spend his final years waiting.
Be the one who gives him his happy ending.
