It’s that time of year again, and we’re very excited to announce that Ferne Animal Sanctuary will once again be part of The Big Give 2025, the UK’s biggest online match-funding campaign. Every year, this incredible fundraising initiative helps us continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need – 2025 will be no exception.
What Is The Big Give?
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a national match-funding campaign that allows supporters to make double the difference at no extra cost. It is one of the most powerful fundraising opportunities available to UK charities, especially animal welfare organisations like ours.
The funds donated during The Big Give campaign are matched by two key groups: the charity’s own supporters, known as Pledgers, and external funders called Champions. Pledgers might be major donors or local businesses who agree in advance to match public gifts. Champions are foundations, philanthropists, or organisations partnered with the Big Give who add extra matching power. Together, they create the pot that doubles every donation and helps charities raise far more than they could alone.

Why Your Donation Matters More Than Ever in 2025
At Ferne Animal Sanctuary, we provide lifelong care and safe shelter for abandoned, neglected, and surrendered animals from across the South West and beyond. With increasing demand for rescue spaces, along with rising veterinary and feed costs, support through The Big Give has become more crucial than ever.
The funds raised will help cover the essential costs of caring for our animals over the winter months. Starting on Giving Tuesday, 2nd December, we have one week to raise £6,000 through the online campaign in order to unlock our full £12,000 target.

Support rehabilitation and behavioural training.
Improve and maintain essential facilities at the sanctuary.

Big Give 2025 match-funding window opens midday 2nd December and closes midday on the 9th December.
2. Visit our official Big Give page
Once the campaign goes live, you’ll be able to donate directly through the matched-funding portal.
3. Make a donation during the match-funding period
Only donations made during the live campaign window will be doubled.
4. Share our campaign
Tell friends, family, and colleagues. The more people who participate, the more animals we can help.
