Ferne’s Halloween Festival!
Ferne Animal Sanctuary will be hosting its first Halloween Festival this year during the October half term week, so be sure to come and visit us and get involved with all of the fun between 24th and 1st November!
We have a some treats in store for all of the family, including activities and competitions and a very spooky sanctuary to enjoy! Come along and get involved with our Black Cats and Bats Trail and why not enter our Scarecrow Competition for a chance of winning some brilliant prizes!

Click here to read about the criteria for your entries, the categories and when and how they will be judged! All entries will then displayed on a trail around the Sanctuary. Three winners will be shortlisted and displayed at the Visitor’s Centre! Photographs of all of the Scarecrow Entries will be displayed on our website for all to see! The general public will vote for the shortlisted entries by making donations to their favourite Scarecrow! Do you think you have what it takes to build a winning Scarecrow! Winners will be announced on Sunday 1st November!
Carve your Own Pumpkin! – FREE ENTRY FOR ALL VISITORS WHO BRING ALONG A PUMPKIN!
Free entry for everyone who brings in a pumpkin carving! The best three pumpkins will win prizes! Winners will be announced on Sunday 1st November!! Just bring along your pumpkin masterpieces to the Sanctuary and gain FREE entry for one person per pumpkin! Good Luck!
Black Cats and Bats Activity Trail and lots of other spooky games!
Join in with our Black Cats and Bats Education Trail, where we will attempt to dispel the myth that black cats are unlucky and where you can find out all about the amazing abilities of bats. We will also have lots of other mini games going on around the Sanctuary, including Name the Scarecrow Competition, Guess how Many Spiders in the Trailer, and How Many Bats Can you Find!
Tricks and Treats at our Café!
Toffee, caramel and Chocolate apples will be available at our Cafe as we get into the spirit of Halloween this year! Come and try one – We also serve a selection of hot and cold drinks, Afternoon Tea, Sandwiches, Chips, Cakes and confectionery.
