Come and celebrate all things wildlife with us on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26th!

The return of our Ferne Social Dog Walk! The walk will begin at 11am, meeting at the bottom of the Ferne Animal Sanctuary main car park. The walk will be through public footpaths and small amounts of roads to The Cotley Inn and back. There will be other dogs on the walk, so please be mindful if your dog will enjoy being in the company of other dogs. Tickets are £5 which includes entry to the sanctuary, book your spot here! 

Bring the kids to our arts & crafts room, Creative Corner, where you can make wildlife themed crafts and enjoy a game of bingo.

Outside, join us for pond dipping and exploring our wildlife trail around the sanctuary. It’s a day of fun and nature for the whole family!

Entry will be at a reduced price of £5 an adult, £1 a child.

 

Join us at Ferne Animal Sanctuary for a Summer Fete full of fun and fascinating animal facts! 🐾

Moth viewing with the Somerset Moth Group, where you can observe moths that have gathered overnight, learn about their species, and discover their unique behaviors. 🦋

Enjoy giant outdoor games like hoopla and naughts and crosses, and unleash your creativity in Creative Corner with lots of arts and crafts. 🎨

Rain or shine, we’ve got you covered! Our indoor beach day features sandpits, paddling pools, and plenty of ice cream, all while learning how to keep your pets safe in hot weather. 🏖️🍦

Ferne’s Open Day!

Never visited Ferne before or haven’t been in a while? Join us from midday on the 23rd of August to explore all we have to offer and be inspired to want to make a difference and support our work with animals in need. 

Behind-the-scenes guided tour: Led by our Animal Care & Land Manager Nikki, this special tour offers a deep insight into our work at Ferne. Meet our animal care team, learn how we manage the animals and their individual needs, and hear the stories of some of our residents firsthand. (Approx. 2 hours)

Pop-up charity shop: Meet our Retail Operations Manager and Retail Area Manager, who will be running a pop-up charity shop at the sanctuary. Discover hidden gems and enjoy a bargain! We have 7 charity shops in local towns: Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster, Yeovil, Dorchester, Sidmouth, and Wellington.

Creative Corner: Our arts and crafts room will be open for you to participate in animal-themed arts and crafts.

Access to the sanctuary: Take a leisurely walk around the sanctuary at your own pace. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Blackdown Hills from our viewing platform, explore the Willow Walk to learn about the 5 animal freedoms, stop by Blakeborough Gazebo, check out our bug hotels, make a wish at the George Miller wishing well, and play some tunes in our Sensory Garden.

The Hub: Our new event space is available to book for meetings and events. Any bookings on the day will receive a 20% discount on room hire! Learn about all the ways to support the sanctuary, including becoming a Friend of Ferne, sponsoring an animal, playing our weekly lottery, volunteering, gifts in wills, corporate sponsorship, or fundraising for us.
